June Passed So Soon

 Kia ora, Nikorima here. 

I’ve had a good month, staying inside in the warmth as much as I can!

I liked listening to my friends practicing their iSing songs, Kapa Haka & Nga Manu Maori sounds. We had an awesome performance too with lots of people coming to watch. I’m not one for crowds but I sure did enjoy listening to a great mix of songs and waiata. It put a smile on my dial as I swayed to the music.

In Sensory I have enjoyed a mix of Pan pipes and bright lights, Around the world in 30 songs

Blues on Beale, Autumn Harvest, Remarkably Bright Creatures, Rain relaxation sounds and more.

 I enjoyed a nice hikoi at the Orangapani reserve park. She was a bit brisk and these winter month chills are not my favourite. Till next time. Nikorima.

My Month Of May

 Kia Ora Whanau, Nikorima here. 

The centre is buzzing with the sounds of Waiata and Kapa Haka. I like to join in sometimes and listen to my friends singing, sometimes if I’m feeling it I’ll have a little kanikani too.

Over in my favourite room, the sensory room, we’ve been busy with some super cool visual experiences like in a galaxy far far away, cadillac records, ice crystals, nature relaxation and some super cool extreme water sports as well as a quick trip across the world to Japan.  

On the subject of travel, I went out to Moreland Fox Park with my mates where we had a hikoi, felt the sun on our faces and I took my shoes off to connect with nature and ground myself on the earth.

Hikoi in the sun

I enjoyed going for a hikoi along the beach at Kulim park. The sun was shining and it was good spending time out with my frends!

 

 

Happy Birthday to me!

 It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my mates sung me "Happy Birthday" and gave me a cool card!

Basketball at Merivale

 I went up to the Merivale Community Centre with my mates. We took a basketball and some of them shot some hoops while i took in the sun and watched.

Ila park hikoi

 I started the new year with a cool social visit to Ila park with my  mates. We sat in the shade and listened to music

Belvedere park

 

I went out to feed the ducks and get some lovely fresh air. It was nice in the sun 

Kulim park

 I kicked my shoes off to feel the fresh grass at kulim Park. It was a lovely sunny day so I made sure to have a spot in the shade where I could listen to the music and went for a hikoi to check the place out. 

Music to my ears

Today I enjoyed hanging out with friends who were singing some beautiful songs to me. I did some dancing and swaying to the rhythm.

Fish and chips

 Wolfgirls dad went fishing and caught so much fish he shouted us all a yummy fresh fish lunch! It was so good!

Oceanbeach outing

 I went out with my mates to an ocean beach park where we sat and enjoyed the sun

Sensory blanket

 I enjoyed relaxing to music and feeling the soft fluffy wooly balls on this colourful sensory blanket. It made me feel cosy and relaxed!

Dj and disco

 I had the best time listening to DJ Spin and his sounds while hanging with my mates

Yatton park bbq

I enjoyed going for a hikoi around Yatton park. I stopped and listened to the water feature then enjoyed a picnic bbq lunch. 

 

Boil up and hangi!

 The kitchen is where it's at here at the centre and we've whipped up a hangi and a boil up, yum yum! Check out my cabbage, that went straight in the pot too.

African sensory

 For a sensory session  we did a virtual trip to the African plains. I enjoyed the drums and music

Checking out the Cheese cakes

 My Goodness! those cheese cakes look Delicious. The crew made them for "Under the Stars" feeding the homeless. Now that puts a smile on my dial.
